Tooling Timeline, Zero Series Feedback, and Locking in Final Upgrades
about 1 month ago – Fri, May 01, 2026 at 01:29:30 AM

Hi Visionaries,

As promised in our last update, we spent the back half of April deep on the factory floor reviewing the final production models and digesting the feedback from the Zero Series units we shipped across four continents. We are putting together a short behind-the-scenes video update from the manufacturing floor, which we will post on our Discord channel shortly, but today, we need to talk about the final engineering upgrades and our timeline.

As we mentioned previously, we are adding the Backrest Flex Tension Adjustment to the final production models so you can dial in your ideal recline resistance. We did not originally plan to add this function, but we knew it was the right call, and many of you asked for it, so we needed to map out exactly what that meant for our manufacturing schedule.

See our approved prototype below. Note: production version will have a sleek chrome finish.

Cutting the new steel molds for this tension mechanism is going to take 60 days. There is simply no way to speed up that tooling process. Because of this, our timeline to kick off mass production is shifting to the beginning of July, with production wrapping up in August.

One thing I want to make very clear: The tension control, upgrading to a custom-bounce gas spring, brand-new premium fabric, memory foam, and multi-hardness foam do add to our manufacturing costs. But we are absorbing 100% of it. Every single one of these upgrades will come at absolutely no extra cost to you.

In the meantime, we haven't just been waiting on molds. Our team has been obsessing over every tiny detail that could be 1% better. Here is everything we just locked in based on our Zero Series feedback:

Comfort, Upholstery & Geometry

New Premium Fabric: We have upgraded to a new premium stretch fabric that looks and feels incredible, allowing us to avoid any visible stitching and making it very easy to clean, as shown below.

Headrest Foam: Upgraded to Memory Foam.

New Seat Shape & Foam : The seat shape has been redesigned with a more pronounced cavity, and features multi-layer hardness.

Lumbar Alignment: We tweaked the lumbar support geometry - bringing it up and adjusting the depth - so it hits the absolute perfect spot.

The Perfect Bounce: We realized that shorter, lighter users had to put in too much effort to lower the chair when it was elevated. We are reducing the Newton force in the gas spring so it glides down effortlessly. The New Gas Spring now also comes with a premium bouncing effect.

Hardware & Finishes

Premium 4D Armrests: The 4D armrests now feature a full-aluminum support structure for buttery-smooth movement. For mass production, the push-button will also be solid aluminum.

New Armpads: We set out to find the softest armpads we could find in the industry, and we did.

Flawless Folding Armrests: The folding armrests are fully solved. We added a friction washer to the hinge to kill any wobble, and we're using a countersink design so there are no visible screws.

Safety & Reliability: We completely addressed the pinch points near the T-Mech.

Stability & Impact Testing : We passed extensive durability and load testing.

We pushed incredibly hard to meet our original delivery dates. However, we've always known that if faced with the choice between shipping on time or shipping a great product, we will choose the product.

Our goal has always been to fundamentally change the way the world sits. We only get one shot at this, and we refuse to compromise.

Thank you for your patience, and for trusting us to build this the right way.

Talk soon,

What's Changed Since the Zero Series
about 2 months ago – Fri, Apr 10, 2026 at 11:07:51 AM

Hi Visionaries,

A couple of you have asked for an update, and you're right - it's been a while. The full deep-dive is coming later this month, live from the factory floor. In the meantime, here's a brief update on what's been happening since the Zero Series.

  - We sent units to two independent testing labs for full safety certification - pinch points, durability, load-bearing, flammability, the complete stress-test scope - and received valuable feedback.

  - We shipped 20 units to partners across 4 continents and collected real-world input from every one of them.

  - Off the back of all that, we brought on two additional engineers, and the team has been working around the clock to incorporate every finding.

The heart of the Vision Chair is its mechanism - the T-Mech is final, smooth, and performing exactly as designed. We passed the impact, load, and stability testing, and our tooling is complete. Everything we have been refining now was about making the rest of the chair live up to it. You backed a chair that redefines how the world sits, and that's what you're going to get.

So here are some highlights on what's improved: we've upgraded to a multi-hardness seat foam with different hardness zones, memory foam in the headrest (think premium pillow feel), new fabric, and an upgraded gas spring with a smooth, responsive bounce to it.

New Addition: Backrest Flex Tension Adjustment. The backrest will now feature a flex tension adjustment, letting every user dial in their ideal recline resistance. The fixed tension on the Zero Series worked well for most users, but it wasn't ideal for smaller frames. Many of you requested this, and we agreed. So we're adding it. At no extra cost.

This addition puts pressure on our timeline to start shipment in May. We're reviewing the final prototype with this feature integrated, and we'll have a clear update for you shortly after.

What's Next

On April 20, we'll be on the factory floor with the final production model in hand to sign off and start production. You'll get a full update with photos, video, and a clear timeline at your doorstep.

Thank you for your patience and your trust.

P.S : Below are some of the snapshots and first reactions from Vision's first public appearance. It was memorable, and no seatbelts were required :D

Zero Series: Built. Inspected. Ready.
3 months ago – Mon, Mar 02, 2026 at 03:51:32 AM

Hi Visionaries,

Our first pre-production run is officially complete!

This February, we have been deep on the factory floor, walking the lines, reviewing samples, and locking in every detail before the ramp-up.

A famous architect once said that designing a chair is almost as difficult as designing a skyscraper. For us, especially, that couldn't be truer.

Because there was no blueprint for what we built.

Almost everything about how the Vision works has been reinvented from scratch - the mechanism, the geometry, the motion, the ergonomics. The only off-the-shelf parts are the base, casters, and gas spring. Everything else? Engineered from zero.

What We Worked Through

This has been one of the most demanding stretches since we started Levitask.

Long days. Late nights. Hundreds of micro-decisions most people will never see, but will absolutely feel when they sit down.

Here is what we focused on:

Headrest assembly: Finalizing the lock knob resistance, height adjustment tolerance, and detach mechanism. Every interaction must feel seamless and precise.

Seat foam cavity: Dialing in the float zone. Millimeter-level refinements were made until the sensation matched exactly what we designed for.

Surface finish and fabric tension: Eliminating stitch visibility, closing tolerance gaps, and ensuring the chair looks as clean as it performs.

Folding armrest mechanism: Transitioning from a manual button lock to automatic engagement and removing every trace of wobble.

Some issues took hours. Some took days. A few were solved in real time on the floor.

We rejected what did not meet the standard. Refined what was close. Locked in what was right.

We are not building a marginally better office chair. The average person will spend over 80,000 hours seated in their lifetime. Low back pain remains one of the leading causes of disability globally. This has to be fixed.

We are here to fundamentally change how the human body sits. No shortcuts. No compromises.

A Milestone Moment

And then it happened.

We watched the first Zero Series units come off the production line, go through inspection, and get packed for shipment. For Klaus, this has been a 40-year vision. Seeing it move from an idea to a physical reality on a factory line was no small moment.

None of this would have happened without you; you showed the world that we are ready for a new way to sit, and you gave us the support we needed to bring this to life. Thank you, sincerely.

What Happens Next

Every Zero Series unit has been built on production tooling and cleared for the next steps:

Certification testing, Stress and durability validation, Environmental and safety compliance across 10+ countries, Design award submissions

Production start remains on track for mid-March.

The Question You Have Been Asking Since Day One

What do the colors actually look like?

Deep Coal. Space Gray.

No renders. No filters. Straight off the line.

This is just the beginning. More updates are coming very soon.

Sincerely,

The Levitask Team
